Board books and a baby

It’s my first blog post! And I’m excited—not only because I’m launching my business as a homeschool coach, but also because I recently found out that my daughter and son-in-law are expecting their first child. Their baby is due to arrive on December 26, my late mom’s birthday. I’m bursting with thankfulness—so many full-circle moments.

My first new grandma move was to purchase a set of board books by Sally Lloyd-Jones and Jago. My daughter, Michaela, grew up with The Jesus Storybook Bible, by the same author and illustrator, and when I looked at her baby registry, I was delighted to see it was the one book she’d listed.

By the time Lloyd-Jones and Jago’s board books started releasing, my kids were already too old for them. But I’ve given them as baby shower gifts over the years, and everyone always oohs and aahs. The illustrations are stunning, and the writing is gentle and simple. Five of them are based on different psalms and one on The Lord’s Prayer.

All six of the books are available as 8×8 padded board books. I purchased the first four 6×6 books in a set: My Little Library of God’s Great Love.

Let the library-building begin! This is the beginning of a homeschool, friends. And the nurturing of faith in a new little soul.

PS: If you love Jago’s art, check out his Etsy shop at JagoIllustration - Etsy where you can get signed prints and more.

Also, be sure to visit Sally Lloyd-Jones’s website. It’s a treasure trove.
